With an aim to encourage maximum student participation and promote healthy but fierce competition, the Government of Maharashtra had recently organized 64th National School Lawn Tennis Championship 2018-19. Our student Shravani Khawale studying in standard 8 of Walnut school Shivane not only participated but also won the competition earning a silver medal in the Individual event.

The championship was held at Mumbai for Under 14 boys and girls organized by School Game Federation of India (SGFI). Total of 24 states had participated in this championship. Each state had 5 players out of which only two top-ranked players were allowed to participate in the Individual event. Shravani won a silver medal in the Individual event. It was indeed a tough competition as Shravani battled through total 6 rounds defeating players from different states. We wish Shravani all the best for her future and hope she continues her winning streak.
