At Walnut School, academics are carefully designed to be effective for children and stress-free for parents. Our systems ensure students build strong foundations while parents stay free of the constant coaching, supervision, and stress that is common in other schools.
Sensible Homework
Organized Exams
Sensible Homework
Homework is meant for practice and habit-building, not for parents to figure out. That’s why:
- From Nursery to Std. 2, students have no formal homework. Optional practice questions are shared for those who want extra work.
- From Std. 3 onwards, homework becomes regular, sensible, and age-appropriate. Students work independently and teachers provide regular feedback to parents on the quantity and quality of submissions.
Parents don’t need to worry about late-night projects or complicated tasks , homework is meaningful and always under control.
Organized Exams
Exams are never last-minute at Walnut. Each unit ends with:
- A revision week to consolidate learning.
- Practice tests to help students identify their mistakes, manage time, and gain confidence.
- Quarterly unit tests that follow the same format as the practice tests.
This system ensures exams don’t feel scary. Students approach them calmly and confidently, while parents are reassured that preparation is already happening in school.
No Tuition Needed
Walnut’s structured teaching, daily practice, and constant revision mean that children don’t need tuition classes. Parents often share how stress-free this makes exam time, since their children are already well-prepared without outside coaching.
Regular Feedback
Parents receive daily updates about what their children have learned, including assignments and classwork details, through the WalSH app. This way, parents always know what’s happening without having to ask.
PTMs That Work
- 4 online meetings with each core subject teacher → subject-specific, once each unit.
- 4 offline open PTMs → where parents can meet any teacher face-to-face, once each unit.
