These past few months have been… what’s the word? Alive. Yes, that’s it. Alive with laughter, learning, discovery and those beautiful moments when you see a child understand something not from a textbook, but from living it.
We’ve celebrated festivals, built forts, stayed up past bedtime (the supervised kind!), debated world issues, and yes — we’ve won medals. But more importantly, we’ve watched your children grow into thoughtful, empathetic, courageous individuals.

🎒 When Bedtime Becomes Bond-Time
Slumber Parties That Matter
Remember when you were young and staying over at a friend’s house felt like the biggest adventure? We believe children still need that.
Throughout these months, we organised slumber parties for different age groups — from Standard 4 all the way to Standard 10. Some were overnight adventures, while others were all-day marathons of fun.
✨ What Made These Nights Special?
- Open mic sessions that revealed hidden talents
- Team games that brought out competitive spirits
- Board game marathons that lasted until dawn
- Midnight snacks and morning treats that hit just right
- Digital detox that actually brought everyone closer together
🌱 Beyond the Fun: Building Life Skills
These weren’t just parties. They were masterclasses in independence, respect and community living. Students embraced our guidelines with maturity, proving that they are ready for the next chapter of their lives.
🗣️ Debate: When Children Learn to Think and Talk
Remember the “But why?” phase? We don’t want it to end. We just want it to evolve.
This year, Standards 3 to 5 across all campuses debated real questions:
- Standard 3: Should devices be allowed in classrooms?
- Standard 4: Are exams helpful or just stressful?
- Standard 5: Does felicitating winners feel awesome or awkward?
Here’s the twist — a coin toss decided which side they’d argue. They had to prepare both sides.
Think about that. Defending something you disagree with. Finding merit in the “other” perspective. That’s not just debating. That’s empathy.
🎯 Why This Matters
Because we want children who think before speaking. Who listen to opposing views without interrupting. Who articulate complex ideas clearly. Who respect someone they completely disagree with.
Debating teaches quick thinking, critical analysis and the courage to speak up. But more importantly, it teaches that there is often more than one valid perspective.
That is a clear differentiation between students of Walnut and others.
🧪 Hands-On Demo: Learning by Doing!
Our little innovators from Nursery to Std. 4 took centre stage at the Hands-On (STEM) Demo, proudly presenting what they’ve been learning week after week in their activity periods.
From understanding how things float and sink, to exploring magnets, plants, electricity, forces and even civic duties, each project showed how beautifully children grasp big ideas when they get to try them out themselves.
Parents watched in awe as confident young presenters explained experiments and models with enthusiasm. It was heart-warming to see curiosity, teamwork and clear understanding shine through every presentation — true Walnut learning in action! 🌰✨
🎯 Std. 10 Goal-Setting Session
Our Std. 10 students took part in a focused goal-setting activity designed to help them understand what discipline and consistent effort truly mean in this important academic year. They reflected on their routines, set realistic targets and understood how small, steady steps lead to big progress over time.
Through discussions and guided activities, they learnt how to review their goals, stay agile, adjust their approach and build habits that support long-term success. It was a thoughtful beginning to their journey towards becoming independent and responsible young adults.

🌿 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: Learning Responsibility the Walnut Way
Students across Shivane, Wakad and Fursungi took real action during the Swachh Bharat activities. From our tiny Baby Walnuts sorting waste and organising their classrooms to our older students cleaning shared spaces and reflecting on their habits, every child experienced what responsible citizenship truly looks like.
They scrubbed, sorted and cleaned with complete focus. Many students noticed how quickly waste builds up and even suggested ways to reduce single-use plastic in school. These experiences help children understand that cleanliness is not a task, but a responsibility they carry with them every day.
🎉 Children’s Day Celebration | 14 November
Children’s Day on 14 November was a burst of joy across all our campuses. Our Baby Walnuts spent the day laughing, playing and enjoying activities created just for them. From exciting rides and playful games to happy moments with friends, every child experienced pure fun throughout the day.
The smiles, the giggles and the carefree joy reminded us why childhood is so special. At Walnut, we make sure Children’s Day is not just celebrated, but truly felt — and this year was no exception.
🤝 RISE 2025: When Sports Spoke Louder Than Words
Our students took part in the RISE inclusive sports event where they played alongside deaf and mute children from TEACH. What began as a regular sports morning quickly turned into a powerful lesson in empathy and connection.
With no shared language, the children used gestures, smiles and teamwork to communicate. Very soon, they found themselves learning basic sign language from their teammates. The games were exciting and the victories were joyful, but the real win was the understanding that sports can unite us in ways words cannot.

Daily sports is at the heart of our routine at Walnut School. With structured practice and exposure to a wide range of physical activities, students build stamina, discipline, teamwork and confidence. This strong foundation is what helps our children grow tougher, stronger and sharper every year — on and off the field.
🎉 Celebrating Strength and Spirit
This season’s Sports Day events brought joy, energy and healthy competition across our Shivane, Fursungi and Wakad campuses. Our Baby Walnuts delighted everyone with fun races, obstacle activities and colourful demonstrations that filled the grounds with excitement.
Std. 1 students impressed with their growing confidence, speed and coordination through running events, relays and skill displays. Shivane’s Std. 4 students added to the enthusiasm with strong team spirit and focused performances across track and field events.

🙏 Remembering Modak Madam
Modak Madam was family.”
For 25 years — from Millennium National School to Walnut School — Modak Madam was the person who remembered everyone’s name (seriously, how?), had that electric smile that made bad days bearable, ran three campuses with calm confidence, connected effortlessly with parents, teachers and students, and assured you that everything would be okay.
She started at the front desk in the year 2000. By the time Walnut School launched in 2014, she was already integral to everything we did. When we expanded to three campuses, she became the Head of Administration.
But titles don’t capture who someone truly is.
She was warm. Capable. Patient beyond measure. The person you called when you didn’t know who else to call. The glue that held things together.
After bravely beating cancer, a sudden infection took her from us in a matter of hours. We are heartbroken.
To Modak Madam,
You touched thousands of lives. You were loved by everyone who knew you.
Your warmth, your laughter, and your “let’s do this” attitude are irreplaceable.
We miss you. We love you.

🤝 Quarterly Leadership Meet | 26 November
Leaders from all Walnut campuses came together for our quarterly review and planning session. It was a productive day of aligning ideas, refining processes and discussing how we can continue improving our academic systems and overall school experience.
With administrators, academic heads, technical teams and executive leaders all in one room, the focus stayed on one simple but important question — how do we make learning even better for our students and parents?
These meets help us stay coordinated across our unique bagless system and busy activity schedule, and they keep us moving forward as one team.
