“The Magic Tiffin Box – Tasty Bites and Healthy Delights”

Riaan Jain and Shahnawaz Akbar from Walnut School Wakad Campus (Standard 5) secured first prize with their heartwarming project that blends storytelling, family values and healthy eating habits.

Project Innovation: When Grandma’s Wisdom Meets Code

The winning project tells the story of young Rishaan, who transforms his ordinary tiffin into something magical with his grandmother’s loving guidance. Through this journey, he grows into a confident ‘super boy’ capable of pursuing and achieving his goals with excellence.

What Makes This Project Special:

The creative process begins with the character’s name itself – Rishaan is a unique hybrid created by combining both students’ names (Riaan + Shahnawaz), symbolising:

  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Creative imagination
  • Unified vision

Project Highlights:

  • Interactive storytelling that promotes healthy eating
  • Multi-generational bonding through food and tradition
  • Character development journey from ordinary to extraordinary
  • Seamless blend of cultural values and modern coding

The Bigger Picture

This CompuSkills Championship victory demonstrates how young minds at Walnut School are learning to use technology not just for technical prowess, but to tell meaningful stories that matter. The project addresses real-world themes – healthy eating, family bonds, confidence building – through engaging digital narratives.

Why This Matters:

In an age where screen time often disconnects children from values, Riaan and Shahnawaz created a project that uses technology to reinforce family traditions, healthy habits and self-confidence. That’s not just coding. That’s thoughtful innovation.

The Walnut Approach to Computational Thinking

These victories aren’t accidents. They’re the result of Walnut School’s systematic approach to teaching computational thinking – where students don’t just learn to code, but learn to think through code.

Our students understand that technology is a tool for solving real problems, telling important stories and making the world better – one project at a time.
