Making India Proud!

Recently, ‘International Short Track Speed Skating Competition’ was organised at Icescape Ice Rink, Malaysia on 4th of September. Our student Soham Deshmukh of Walnut School Shivane had participated in the event. And we are extremely delighted to announce that, displaying splendid performance, Soham secured a second rank, and bagged a trophy!

Making India Proud!

Soham, who studies in Std. 4, has been a brilliant performer throughout. He enrolled for skating classes on his own choice, and merely after six days of joining, he won his first trophy. Taking the winning streak forward, he bagged a silver medal in 3rd Roller Skating Championship of 2016, and hasn’t looked back since then.

Till date, Soham has won two silver medals, and two bronze.

“I’m very happy!” Soham says on his recent victory. His parents are no exception to this infectious happiness. “Soham had only eight months of Inline training and just three camp days of Ice Skating in Mumbai. Yet, with so little training, he won the trophy,” they said, “The best part was, to see India’s name on winning board on a foreign soil.”

Truly, it’s a special feeling for all of us! Kudos to Soham, who made it possible.
Soham credits his success to his father and calls him, his inspiration.
Soham is now gearing up for National Ice Skating Tournament, Delhi. (In January)

We wish our young achiever all the very best!

Parents, children and staff were all decked up in their traditional finery. There was a grand display of mud forts made by the children. There were diyas, lanterns and rangolis too. There was food to go with it and the weather was just right. The atmosphere was all charged up and everyone was in high spirits. Oh what an evening that was!
