Parent-teacher meetings are a great way to discuss about your child’s academic progress and social interaction within peers.
Aren’t they?
These meetings are also a great way to discuss any questions you may have regarding your child.
At Walnut, we term these meetings as ‘Open Saturdays’.

At Walnut, we greatly value parent-teacher interaction.
While teachers are experts in teaching, you’re the expert on your child. You know what interests and bores them, what they’re good at and what they struggle with. You know your child’s learning style and you also know if there are any other issues that might be affecting their learning progress at school.
So, regular communication with the teacher is encouraged to enable a smooth teaching experience for your child.

Remedial teaching is something that cannot be limited to a specified duration. It needs to be implemented on a regular basis. We have decided to conduct the remedial sessions throughout the academic year 2018 – 19, on Saturdays.
This year-round remedial sessions would start from the month of July. The list of students recommended for the programme would change each week, depending on whether the child requires remedial attention for the topics taught within the week.
Parents of these children would be duly notified on each Thursday.
The teaching sessions would be conducted on the coming Saturday. The topic for the upcoming remedial session would also be informed, to the parents. We request at least one parent to accompany the child for these sessions. This would enable the parents to get an idea about the teaching techniques and approach adopted by the school and also recognise the flaws in methods of teaching that may arise while revising the concepts at home.

Although the list of students would be dynamic, there may be instances when the same child is being recommended for the remedial programme each week. In such a case, we urge the respective parents to avoid making other plans for Saturday mornings.
These extra sessions are aimed at helping the child catch up to the expected academic level.
Our teachers put in extra hours to achieve this academic excellence in all the Walnut students. We expect you to be regular and punctual in your attendance. Do note that we are conducting these remedial classes as an extra effort on part of the school. Only those students who truly require remedial attention are invited to join in. If you are not regular and punctual in your attendance, your child will not be allowed to be a part of the remedial classes henceforth.
